Spring 2025 Baseball Registration

Spring 2025 Baseball (ages 5-13)

We're happy to announce that registration for the 2025 Baseball and Tee Ball Spring season is open!

About the Baseball Program

The 2025 Corvallis Little League Baseball program includes 6 established divisions for coed play, ages 5–13. All levels play at Crystal Lake Fields in South Corvallis. The Intermediate division will also travel to other fields within Oregon Little League District 7.

Below are descriptions of each level of play to help you determine the best placement for your player. When registering, keep in mind it is OK and at times best for the player’s development to participate in the same level for more than one season.

For Minors and Majors, CLL will have a skills evaluation in February that will determine the best level of play for your player. Please be aware that the level at which you register your child may change (at the majors and minors level) depending on their skills level.

The goal of Corvallis Little League is to ensure that every family and player has a fun, memorable experience, is challenged, and learns to love baseball.

Registration

You can both register your player at the Corvallis Little League website and sign up for a volunteer role at the same time. Here is a handy PDF to help walk you though the Sports Connect program we use for registration.

Important Dates

Majors and Minors will start playing in early April. T-ball, Rookie and Farm levels will start in late April/early May. All levels will run until mid-June.

Baseball divisions consist of the following programs:

Tee Ball (Ages 4 -7) For our younger players just starting out in baseball, tee ball is the entry level division that focuses on fun and the basic fundamentals. Tee ball is co-ed, but if your daughter is interested, CLL Softball may also be offering a tee ball program if there is enough interest.

Rookie - Coach Pitch (Ages 6 - 8) In Rookie ball, coaches pitch to players, with hitting off a tee still an option if/as needed. This level of play still focuses on teaching the fundamentals of baseball.

Farm - Player Pitch (Ages 7-10) Primarily player pitch with the option of coach pitch. Farm is for those who are ready to play with outs, balls and called strikes. At this level of play, teams begin to keep score and the focus is on developing as baseball players and learning to love the game of baseball.

Minor (Ages 8-11) This is the first “competitive” baseball division. It is entirely player pitch, where players add to their skills by learning how to make competitive plays, steal bases, and win or lose. Ten-run rules are in effect at this level. The regular season ends with a playoff to determine Corvallis Little League’s Minor League championship team, followed by the potential for postseason tournament play against teams from other districts.

Major (Ages 9-12) Majors is our most competitive level within Corvallis Little League. It is intended for players who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to challenge themselves against the best little leaguers in town. Most players will have played at least 2-3 seasons. Similar to minors, the season ends with a playoff to determine Corvallis Little League’s Major League championship team, followed by the potential for postseason play against other districts. At the highest levels, Little League’s postseason tournaments culminate in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.

Intermediate (Ages 12-13) Depending on interest and availability, Corvallis Little League can offer Intermediate Level baseball for players to develop skills with larger base paths, longer pitching distances, and diverse challenges as they prepare for high school baseball. Travel is required beyond Corvallis on a weekly basis to play games solely against Intermediate Level teams from other districts.

League Age

League age is the players age as of 12/31/2024. You can find the Little League Age Calculator here. You will need to register for the division your player falls in and at the Skills and Drills Evaluation we will assess if they can move up or down based on skill level.

Scholarships

Corvallis Little League has scholarships funding available to make sure every player gets on the field. If you are in need of financial assistance, please send an email to [email protected]. Scholarships requests are confidential.

Grants

T-Mobile offers the Call Up Grant Program which is dedicated to helping families in need by covering registration fees. We encourage you to apply if you feel you qualify as it helps spread the CLL Scholarship funds further. You can learn more about the Call Up Grant here: https://www.littleleague.org/call-up-grant-program/

Volunteers

Corvallis Little League is an all volunteer run nonprofit and we need every parent and others to volunteer to make our season special. Each team requires a manager, 2 coaches, 1 or 2 umpires, a scorekeeper, a safety parent, a team parent, and 2 field prep assistants. That's 9 volunteers per team! You can see a grid of Volunteer Roles needed at all Division levels and Position Descriptions here.

If you are interested in coaching please register early. We will try to have coaching clinics prior to the start of practice. We also need umpires for the program. If you are interested in helping us develop a solid umpire program, please email [email protected].

Volunteers must submit to a a background check. When you sign up to volunteer using this platform (Sports Connect) a background check through JDP will be conducted. In addition, for 2025 Little League International has made important updates to the Child Protection Program. Abuse awareness training will be a required part of the Little League Volunteer Application. You can learn more about the Child Protection Program and the changes here:

If you would like to get an early start, the USA Baseball Program offers a Free Abuse Awareness online course which meets LL requirements. You can learn more here:

You can register and access the online course here:

Once completed, you will be able to download a certificate of completion. Please forward to [email protected] and [email protected].
